Give Value And Wealth Will Follow

December 5, 2016 by Jason

quote-2

The way to become successful is to NOT worry about the money you can make but rather on what you can do to help others to reach their own goals.

By being a person who gives value, you will find that the money will follow. For money is proportional to the value you give to the world. In other words; give more value and the cash will follow.

It is an easy mistake to make; thinking about how much money you can make and I bet many new marketers make it even if they don’t admit it. But the sooner you move your focus away from YOU and on to your customers/prospects, the sooner you will become successful.

What can you do today that will give value to your subscribers? Try it for a few weeks and you should be pleasantly surprised with the results.

What do you think about this; are you a value giver and has it worked for you?

Avoiding All The Scams In Affiliate Marketing

December 4, 2016 by Jason

27

The internet is filled with people trying to get rich as quickly as possible. That said, there are numerous unscrupulous users on the internet who wake up on a daily basis to take advantage of those people looking to make easy money and they do this by promising them things that are nearly impossible to deliver on.

Don’t be that person who thinks that the internet has all the solutions to your money problems and that you can get something for nothing. As they say, hard work forever pays so be prepared to earn your pay; after all it is a business so treat it as such.

Affiliate marketing has presented a new frontier for internet scammers to prey on the unsuspecting public. How then can you spot these scams and avoid the stress of losing your hard-earned money to people who only want to take advantage of you?

Genuine programs do not require joining fees.

Look at the bigger networks such as Clickbank and JV Zoo; they do NOT ask for a joining fee as they make their money by taking a commission when, and only when, you make sales.

Promises of big income with little work

Some merchants will try to show you how you can be a millionaire within a few days. If that were the case then they’d be relaxing somewhere on a beach enjoying their wealth instead of trying to convince people to join their programs on the internet.

Educate yourself and always do your due diligence before jumping into any affiliate program and you should be ok.

Anyone can make a career out of affiliate marketing but not everyone who attempts to will succeed. You should be ready to work hard and choose those programs that are genuine and that will provide you with an opportunity to grow.

Your Mission Statement

November 27, 2016 by Jason

mission-statement

When you are trying to establish your brand, you also need to create a mission statement that really defines your brand.

In all honesty, it is probably best to create this first so you really know and can focus on what your brand stands for.

So what is a mission statement? Well, put simply it is a short paragraph or line that tells prospects what your business is about, what you do and why you do it. This is your goal, your vision and your commitment.

From here, you will then have a more inspiring vision that you can use in order to inform your other choices – such as your choice of logo and brand name (if not using your own name as a personal brand).

Now your logo really stands for something. And when that’s the case, people can stand behind you and come into line with your ideals and become your biggest fans.

What Is A Brand?

November 17, 2016 by Jason

brand
Any marketer worth his salt knows that branding is crucial to their long term success but many of them make the mistake of thinking that a brand is all about a logo, but this is thinking too simply.

So if a brand isn’t just a logo, then what is it all about?

Well, one other obvious aspect of a brand is the name. Your company needs a name and likely this name will also be the name of your website. Having a brand name like this for your website is one of the best things you can do to start getting attention for your business immediately. Try to make your name congruent with your business and easily recognisable.

Google has stated that brands are far more successful at search engine optimization these days, and certainly from a user’s perspective, brand names are a lot more memorable and professional sounding. In other words, calling your fitness based website something like ‘FitLand’ will work much better than ‘FitnessAndHealthArticles’.

You also need a visual style. Once you’ve created your logo, you’ll have chosen some colors and maybe some images that will relate to your business and that will form the basis of these logos. Now you need to take those colors and shapes and work them into everything else you do. If your logo is red, your website and your social media pages need to incorporate this red color. Having this consistency across your logo and website helps to tie everything together and makes it easier for people to remember you.

Making An Impact

November 17, 2016 by Jason

branding

If you want to make the maximum impact on the web, then it’s simply not enough to have a social media account(s) and a blog. You really need to ensure that there is a brand behind that social media account and behind that blog – something instantly recognisable that ties all of your posts and comments together under a single banner and something that people will feel is more than the sum of its parts and is a guaranrtee of quality.

But a brand isn’t just a logo. In order to have a real brand that has raving fans, you need to know what it is that makes something like this work and how to go about building yourself an image and then (more importantly) how to gain exposure for that image.

Affiliate Marketing on Facebook

November 16, 2016 by Jason

business-010

If you are an affiliate marketer, you have probably heard that social networking sites are great for boosting affiliate earnings. But do you really understand how to use them to their benefit? Sometimes, if an affiliate marketer is too pushy they may appear to be spammy – you know the type that ends up posting their links on other peoples’ fan pages or worse – spamming their own friends and family.

There are several ways you can pursue your affiliate marketing on Facebook and it can be quite lucrative, especially considering that Facebook traffic is continually on the rise! You just need to work out how to best cater to your target audience and their needs on Facebook.

Here are just 3 ways to market on FB:

Fan pages
These are one popular way to pursue affiliate marketing on FB. Anyone can create a fan page, and yours can be for a specific brand or niche topic, like parenting. You’ll want to grow a list of followers on your fan page by providing lots of interaction, tips and yes, links to products they might like.

FB Groups
While your FB pages are usually meant for fans to follow a leader in a niche (YOU), a group is for like-minded people to be able to interact.

So you could have a parenting Facebook group for Moms of autistic children, for example. You could provide tips for working with autistic kids, and sometimes provide a link to toys that are good for autistic children or a link to an info product about nutrition and autism.

Your group(s) can be either public or private. Private groups require you to invite and approve members. You may wish to consider this option if you’re collecting names on an email autoresponder list and want to give them access as a perk. You cna even make your group secret meaning that it cannot be found by any search on FB so the ONLY way to know of its existence is to be invited.

FB Ads
Advertising on Facebook is very popular among affiliate marketers but you do need to know how to use it before you plunk down a substantial amount of money – or even invest a little and lose it all because you didn’t know what you were doing.

The thing that many advertisers like about FB ads is that you can really target your audience well and drill down into a niche, and the ads themselves are pretty inexpensive. Because of the highly focused targeting, your conversion rate can be very high.

With a Facebook ad, you’ll want to use a mix of images and text to produce a click-through although you need to bear in mind that any text has to follow strict FB guidelines and not cover more than 20% of the ad (FB does provide a tool for advertisers to check whether their ad is compliant to the 20% rule and is well worth checking to ensure your ad is approved quickly. Your mixutre of iamage and text is something you can easily split test and you can see what works best for your particular audience.

The demographic targeting options you have are very extensive; you can choose the country, age group, interests and even relationship status – so if you wanted to target single men and promote a course on how to pick up women, you could! Or if you wanted to promote your gardening site to people who garden, your ad could just go out to those individuals.

So if you are an affiliate marketer, you really should add FB to your arsenal and by using these 3 options you can really make the most of FB to drive highly targeted traffic to your affiliate offers.

A Note To Us Marketers

November 14, 2016 by Jason

business22

One of the jobs of us as marketers is to attract those you want to sell to and work with, BUT equally importantly, you need to repel those who don’t resonate with you or your message.

A big mistake that many new marketers make is to try to appeal to everyone but, trust me, that will make you miserable as you will be dealing with people that just don’t “get it.”

Draw a line in the sand and stake your claim. Be YOU and don’t apologise for being yourself to people who just don’t resonate with you. Just say goodbye, move on and focus on those people who DO appreciate what you have to offer them.

Build A Blog And Make Money Part 7

November 8, 2016 by Jason

blog2Monetizing Your Blog

As a niche blogger, you want to always be thinking about your reader, but not to the point where you neglect your own financial success. That should be a strong part of your formula.

So after you map out the categories for your blog, you can rotate the topics when you create new content. Each time you pick a topic, think of two things:

  1. What good, valuable tips can I share?
  1. How can I monetize this post?

So let’s use weight training as our example again. Suppose you wanted to create a blog post called 7 Tips for Weight Training at Home. You would create 7 tips and for one or more of those, include a casual mention and link to a particular product.

For example, you might have a tip about choosing an area with plenty of space, and you could talk about why that’s important, and then say something such as, “If you live in a small area, then I recommend choosing space-saving equipment, like resistance bands that use your body weight.”

Then link to the one you recommend and talk a bit about it before going on to your next tip. The last thing you want to do is write one big ad. The reader should walk away feeling fulfilled if they don’t happen to buy anything that day.

You’ll be building trust with your readers that way.

What other monetization can you place on your blog? Banner ads – but don’t create a hostile environment on your blog where banner ads and buttons are flashing all over the place, blinding your readers.

Depending on your theme, you might be able to place a horizontal banner ad right below your header. You can promote products as an affiliate or promote your own products. These are usually called Leaderboard size.

The sidebar provides ample opportunity for vertical banners and smaller buttons. Try to select choices where they match the color of your site, or complete it in coloring – as long as it doesn’t clash.

You can also put banner ads and buttons inside your actual blog posts. So let’s say you were reviewing an info product from JVZoo or ClickBank. You could look for affiliate tools from the product creator and embed them into your posts so that they align with your text to the right or left, or break up lengthy blog posts right in the middle, too.

Make sure you monetize with text hyperlinks whenever you blog. These convert well. You don’t want every other word to be a hyperlink, but sprinkle them throughout wherever relevant.

Some blog themes don’t make your links stand out very well when you make them, so always go to the extra step of bolding the word or phrase and underlining it. Depending on the colors of your blog, you might also want to make them blue, like a traditional hyperlink.

Some of your monetization will occur from repeat contact with your readers. If your reader doesn’t notice your sidebar opt in form, they might sign up if you include the form at the bottom of your post.

There are plugins that can do this – or, you can simply paste the HTML code into the text – not visual – portion of your blog post. That way, not only are they expose to your offer during that first blog read, but you can promote to them repeatedly (as you serve their needs) over time and enjoy repeat commissions and sales.

Taking Control Of Your Life – A Wake Up Call

November 6, 2016 by Jason

chapter-1-blank

Do you ever get the feeling like you’re constantly firefighting problems, like life is one continuous uphill struggle to stay afloat?

Do you come home from work feeling tired and stressed and without the energy to do anything other than collapse in front of the TV?

Do you always feel like you’re just not quite as happy as you think you could be/should be?

That’s life I’m sure you’ve been told! Or at least it’s life as many of us have come to “experience” it. But in truth there’s no real reason that this should really be the case.

One of the biggest problems is that we’re always chasing after the gold at the end of the rainbow and in doing so, we never stop to smell the roses and live in the now and appreciate life.

Sorry to use all these metaphors but I feel it paints a pretty accurate picture of many people’s life experiences. We’re never happy because we’re always striving for what’s next or “better.” As marketers this manifests itself as “Shiny object syndrome” and we wonder why we never make any real progress in our business becasue we are always chasing the next big thing that makes things easier or quicker. The result of all this undue pressure is we’re always stressed about what’s coming up and whether it will work and we never truly appreciate what we have until we lose it.

We think that the only way to change this is to change our lives. To work harder and longer.

But it’s not.

The way you bring about this change is from the inside out. We need to change the way we think about our situation and we need to change the way we approach life’s problems and the way we enjoy the moment.

And that means taking control of our minds. Once you can do that, you can take back control of your life and this will make you feel more confident, relaxed and happy in the exact same circumstances that you have now. It’s all about focus and once you can do this, you can start to actually plot a course of action to start changing your life for the better. You can stop treading water and start swimming.

Isn’t your life worth it…?

Build A Blog And Make Money Part 6

November 1, 2016 by Jason

Get Ready to Start Posting

Some newbies mistakenly start creating content and putting it all on pages. This messes up your navigation. You want just about everything to be a blog post, not page.

Click on Posts and you’ll see some subtopics you can navigate to. Start by going to Categories and edit the Uncategorized option to something else.

Have you mapped out your site yet? You need an idea of how to have a well-organized site, so just as you did with your niche research, go through the process and group concepts together.

For example, let’s say you were in the “exercise over 40” niche. You might brainstorm the following:

  • Safety
  • Low Impact
  • Weight training
  • Kettlebells
  • Zumba…etc.

You could safely nestle Kettlebells under weight training instead of having dozens of categories all over the place. You might put Zumba under a category called Recreational Fitness.

Create a set of Categories and make sure you format them the same. For example, capitalize the first letter of each word like this:

Weight Training

When you create categories, you can have “parent” and “child” categories, which simply means you can create it so that it looks like this:

Weight Training (parent category)

-Kettlebells (child category)

-Dumbbells (child category)

Under the Posts section, you can add tags – but it’s easier to just add them each time you create a blog post where it asks for tags.

In the final part of this mini training we will look at monetizing your shiny new blog…
